Apa yang berlaku ialah salah satu daripada penjaga pelacur-pelacur tersebut terlebih dahulu akan bersembunyi dibawah katil dan apabila pelanggan tersebut menanggalkan pakaian, dia akan segera menyeluk tangan kedalam poket baju, seluar atau dompet mangsa untuk mencuri wang atau barangan berharga yang lain. Dalam keadaan yang cemas ini, mereka tidak akan terfikir akan wang mereka kerana di dalam fikiran mereka hanya ingin lari dari situ. Ketika ditanya bagaimana beliau mengetahui perkara tersebut, Arrufah dengan selambanya mengakui bahawa beliau juga pernah bekerja sebagai penjaga pelacur di tempat-tempat lain. Ada diantara penjaga pelacur-pelacur di kawasan Kampung Air yang sudah lama dikenalinya dan mereka inilah yang memaklumkan hal ini kepadanya. Perkara ini telah berlaku lama dan ramai yang telah menjadi mangsa, namun akibat merasa malu atau kekurangan bukti, maka hasrat untuk mengetengahkan perkara ini dibiarkan begitu sahaja. Seorang rakan wartawan yang enggan namanya disebut ketika ditemui berkata bahawa perkara ini pernah berlaku pada seorang rakannya yang kehilangan sejumlah wang sebanyak RM550 pada malam tersebut. Ketika rakannya dan pelacur itu telah menanggalkan pakaian mereka, tiba-tiba dia kedengaran bunyi bising di tingkat bawah dan berlarutan sehingga ke tingkat dimana dia berada. Dengan pantasnya dia memakai semula pakaian dan lari keluar dari bilik menuju pintu belakang yang ditunjukkan oleh pelacur tersebut. Dia belum sedar yang dia telah terpedaya. Arrufah mengesahkan bahawa taktik mewujudkan keadaan cemas ini dilakukan secara kerjasama diantara kesemua pelacur-pelacur tersebut dengan penjaga-penjaga mereka. Mungkin ramai yang tidak tahu akan hal ini dan diharapkan agar pendedahan ini akan membuatkan orang ramai lebih berhati-hati terutamanya lelaki-lelaki berhidung belang. Bagi mereka yang sudah terkena terutamanya yang telah berkeluarga, anggaplah ini sebagai pengajaran atau peringatan untuk tidak mengulanginya lagi. Arrufah berasal daripada Zamboanga, Filipina dan berhijrah ke Sabah 30 tahun yang lepas. Sepanjang tempoh ini, beliau telah melakukan banyak kerja termasuklah sebagai penjaga pelacur-pelacur di bandar-bandar lain di negeri ini. Ketika ditanya samada beliau akan kembali bekerja sebagai penjaga pelacur, Arrufah dengan selambanya menyatakan pekerjaan itu adalah haram disisi agamanya. Bahasa isyarat yang ditunjukkan oleh badan, muka dan gerak-geri lelaki berkulit gelap ini sudah cukup memberikan jawapan bahawa beliau kini telah bertaubat dan hanya ingin melakukan pekerjaan yang halal. Banyak perkara tidak baik yang telah saya lakukan dalam hidup saya. Kini, saya sudah sedar dan hanya ingin mendekatkan diri padaNya.
